Classes and workshop focus on engaging the cooperation of children, through positive and effective communication techniques and providing parents with information to address concerns specific to their family.
“Parenting in Real Life”
This 5-session parenting workshop, co-sponsored by the Mental Health Association of Rockland, will encourage parents to explore practical strategies for gaining positive behavior change in your children of any age. Workshop sessions will go over setting goals, helping our children and ourselves manage stress, manage anger and find practical solutions to everyday issues. Session three will teach parents how to use behavioral analysis techniques.
Thematic Children’s groups will provide enriching and fun activities for the children.
No Fee. Although a $10 donation is appreciated to help cover costs. Light refreshments will be served.

“Strengthening Families”
Prepare for the adolescent years! Join other parents in learning about effective communication and ways to promote healthy relations and avoid future problems with your tween or teen (age 10-14). Young people in 5th grade entering middle school in the fall are encouraged to participate. Parents attend WITH their children for 6 sessions; some class time is parents only and kids only groups, then all come together to share what they’ve learned. Childcare and Dinner provided every week! This group is provided FREE to the community.
Classes will take place at Nyack Middle School, 98 S. Highland Avenue, Nyack.
Spring Session has been postponed to the Fall due to scheduling.

Mothering Workshop
Join other mothers in our cozy meeting room for a 5-week program that will explore issues that impact mothers with children at ALL stages of growth and development.
